It is extremely important to make sure you find a therapist with whom you feel you can work. Not every therapist works in the same way. One person might find that her therapist is the best counselor in the world, and another person can find the same therapist to be completely unhelpful. Because of this, Dr. Wachtel wants you to know you are making the right choice in coming to see him. He offers a free 30-minute phone consultation in order to start to get a feel for how he works.
He also offers the first 30 minutes of the first session FREE |

Dr. Wachtel holds the principles of Passion for Helping People, Community Involvement, and Ethical Business Practice as the driving forces in his practice. All three are interrelated and affect one another equally.
Dr. Wachtel has a strong desire to help people improve their lives. He sees himself as a catalyst for change, helping others to make meaningful improvements on their own.
In addition, he works hard to ensure that he meets the high ethical standards set forth by the State of Colorado, the American Psychological Association and, most importantly, his own sense of morality. This ethical business practice was one of the reasons Dr. Wachtel |

was chosen to participate in the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Chamber 100 Program in 2006.
Finally, Dr. Wachtel thinks it is important to give back to the community. He is grateful that his psychology practice is thriving and successful, and he wants to support the community that supports him. Because of this philosophy, he donates 5% of his profits to local Denver Metro charities and non-profits. Dr. Wachtel is a proud supporter of Colorado Public Radio and KUVO, arguably the best jazz station in the country. You will hear one of these radio stations being played in his waiting room during your visits. In addition, he has started the Cherry Creek Psychology Annual Dissertation Research Award, which benefits a new University of Denver student each year who is working to further the field of psychology through research. |
